Dan was excited, not only by our low prices, but by the new hearing aid technology that has reduced dust infiltration.
“My buddy doesn’t even wear his hearing aids to the barn,” Dan shared. “Too much dust.”
Dan had spent a week wearing hearing aids and was back to report his progress and to talk about next steps.
“Let me tell you this story,” He grinned.
“One of my pals was in the calving pen last week when he realized he’d lost his cell phone. He looked high and low. I saw him go back to the truck to get another fellas phone to try and call his own cell phone, to see if he could locate it by the ring. No luck. So a few of them put their heads together and call me over. They’ve been talking about the fact that I should be able to hear the ring, on account of how great I’ve been hearing with these hearing aids. So I come over, knee deep through the muck, and the guy calls his cell phone again. I hear something! I move toward the sound and it stops. ‘Call it again’, I tell him. So he does. I realize it’s not in the calving pen. I get a little closer. It stops ringing, so he calls it again. ‘Move these cows outta the way,’ I tell them. So they push back the cows, who are all surrounding the pen. I hear it ring again, stick my hand down into the muck, and there it is! I found his cell phone! Mind you, it’s all covered in mud and the screen is cracked. But, by golly, I was the only one who could hear it!”
What a great story. But that wasn’t all.
“Then, I was alone doing something in the barn, and I heard something behind me, like a bird. I looked around and there was a red-winged black bird. I haven’t heard a red-winged black bird in I don’t know how long.”
Dan was beaming like a kid.
